Why Early Training Matters
The best time to start training is as soon as your puppy comes home. Early training builds good habits before bad ones take root. Puppies are like sponges they absorb everything from their environment, including both the behaviors you want and the ones you don’t.
Starting young helps your dog:
✅ Learn house rules faster
✅ Build confidence in new situations
✅ Develop impulse control and focus
✅ Prevent future problem behaviors
But it’s never too late. While early training gives you a head start, dogs of all ages are capable of learning with the right guidance and consistency.
Unwanted behaviors such as aggression, leash pulling, jumping, or hyperactivity often develop because proper training and structure weren’t established early on. Some owners may dismiss the behavior, thinking, “It’s just a dog.” But ignoring unwanted behaviors can eventually put you, your family, and even your dog at risk.
Early guidance and consistent training are the key to preventing small problems from becoming dangerous ones.
Bottom line: The earlier you start, the smoother the journey will be for both you and your dog.
